The Uvalde Foundation For Kids Challenges North Carolina Lieutenant Govenor

The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, a national nonprofit formed following the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas; with a chapter on the campus of the University of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; released Saturday afternoon, that it is filing a formal request for an immediate public apology & explanation from the North Carolina Lt Governors office; following recently resurfaced remarks made by Lt. Governor, Mark Robinson; whereby he criticized student protesters following the Parkland school shooting in 2018.

In posts after the shooting, Robinson called students "spoiled, angry, know it all CHILDREN," "spoiled little bastards," and "media prosti-tots."

Foundation National Director, Daniel Chapin; highly criticized Robinson in the release; stating,

"While Our Foundation Does Not Endorse nor Oppose Political Candidates, We Cannot In Good Conscience Allow The Citizens, Families & Students Of This Great State Where We Ourselves Live & Work In; To Move Forward In The Current Campaign, Uninformed Of These Remarks & The Rippling Effects They Have Even Through Today. The Lt Governors Sentiments Are An Insult To Those In Parkland & Around This Nation Who Have Heroicly Faced Tragedy & Overcome; Bravely Helping Our Nation Figure Out Ways To Heal & Learn. They Have Done So Aggressivley & Bravely, For Their Classmates Then & Tomorrow. They Deserve Honor From Our Nation's Leaders - Not Belittlement."

Chapin further stated that the Lt. Governors remarks, while made a few years back, reflect an attitude seemingly still prevalent within the Lt Governor & set the nation back in uniting against gun violence, even now during a time it requires that unity the most to save our young people's lives in the midst of ever increasing school gun related violence.
