Uvalde Foundation For Kids founder, Daniel Chapin noted in Thursday's release: "Without hesitation the Las Vegas Police Department & Campus Police honored the role of their badge & illustrated the dedication in their hearts this week. Within minutes of arriving on campus in and off duty personnel rushed to the campus and while 1 officer truly helped prevent students from being hurt, 2 brave detectives engaged the shooter and ultimately ended the threat
An organized collective effort with clear communication amongst campus and law enforcement officials ultimately resulted in lives being saved. Now we mourn those lost. That itself is daunting enough but we can do so knowing there is always - Hope Beyond Tragedy.."
The Las Vegas & UNLV Police join other national recipients, such as Abby Zwerner of Richneck Elementary School in Virginia, several officers who responded to the Covenant School shooting in Tennessee & mire recenmire recently the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
