In an early morning press conference held in Temple, Texas this morning, the Uvalde Foundation For Kids, who has been actively involved in the search for two missing Idaho teens, feared abducted by FLDS church members; announced that it is now ending its 10 day multi-state ground search for the missing youth.
At the conference, held this morning, Daniel Chapin, founder and national director of the Uvalde Foundation For Kids, released that due to new information they have received, they will be ending the active ground search. Officials added that they now believe the teens are no longer traveling and have been hidden in one location by members of the FLDS church.
The foundation began its search for the youth, shortly after their alleged abduction; which involved 48 volunteers who logged over 120 hours of search time, and over 1,000 miles; including following leads throughout Idaho, Utah, Colorado & Arizona.
Officials noted in an update,Thursday, that they will actively continue to pursue and follow leads involving the dissapearance of the two youth, despite ending the active ground search.
I am truly proud of the dedicated efforts of our teams to date. We must also especially commend law enforcement in Jefferson County in Idaho, Detective MacArthur with Coconino County Sheriff's office in Arizona and so many others for their collaborative efforts. At this juncture, new information we have received, coupled with an exhaustive multi-state ground search, involving 4 states, & thousands of leads, which has resulted to date with no concrete answers as to where these kids are - has led us to end our active ground search for the moment. We do not believe these kids are being transported anywhere at this point.
We will, however, continue to investigate the case & pursue all leads. We are not giving up on these kids. They will be found.
