Youth Peace & Justice Foundation Announces 2026 Holiday Administrative Hours

4 min read

The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation, also known as The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, will observe adjusted administrative hours during the 2026 holiday season, with scheduled closures in both November and December.

The announcement applies to routine administrative operations, media relations, and non-emergency correspondence. Emergency-related response activities and the Foundation’s Online Response Team will continue operating during the holiday periods.

The Foundation issued the update on November 4, 2026, to help community members, families, partners, media contacts, and the public plan for delayed responses during the administrative closures.

November administrative closure

Foundation administration will be closed from Thursday, November 5, through Wednesday, November 25, 2026.

During this period, the closure will include:

  • Routine administrative operations

  • Media relations

  • Non-emergency correspondence

  • General administrative inquiries

Regular administrative hours will resume on Thursday, November 26, 2026.

The Foundation asks anyone submitting routine requests during this period to expect a delayed response. Messages may be reviewed after regular administrative operations resume.

This November closure is part of the Foundation’s planned 2026 holiday administrative schedule. It does not reflect a change in the Foundation’s mission, services, or commitment to communities affected by violence, crisis, trauma, and related concerns.

December holiday closure

Foundation administration will close again beginning Wednesday, December 2, 2026, and will remain closed through Friday, January 1, 2027.

Regular administrative operations will resume on Saturday, January 2, 2027.

The December closure will also apply to routine administrative operations, media relations, and non-emergency correspondence. During this time, members of the public, media representatives, and organizational contacts should expect delays in responses to routine messages.

The December schedule allows the Foundation’s administrative team to observe the holiday season while ensuring emergency-related response work and online response operations continue.

Emergency-related support will continue

The administrative closures will not interrupt the Foundation’s emergency response activities or the continued operation of its Online Response Team. ALL ANCHORPOINT SAFE HOUSES, including our Oahu, HI chapter will continue to operate as normal during this time.

The Online Response Team will maintain its normal operating schedule throughout November and December, including both holiday closure periods.

Emergency-related support and response activities will continue as needed.

This distinction is important. The holiday schedule affects administrative work, not the Foundation’s ongoing emergency-related response functions. The Foundation’s commitment to recognizing, intervening, and preventing violence remains unchanged during the holiday season.

If a situation involves immediate danger or an active emergency, individuals should contact local emergency services first.

Online Response Team operations remain active

The Foundation’s Online Response Team will continue its normal operations during both administrative closure periods.

That includes the November closure from November 5 through November 25 and the December closure from December 2 through January 1.

The continued operation of the Online Response Team reflects the Foundation’s ongoing focus on response, safety, and support. While administrative offices will pause routine work, the Foundation will continue to maintain response capacity for situations connected to its emergency-related mission.

Routine administrative requests should not be directed through emergency response channels unless they involve an urgent safety concern or emergency-related matter.

What the public should expect during the closures

People who contact the Foundation during the closure periods should expect routine messages to receive a delayed response.

This includes:

  • General administrative questions

  • Non-emergency correspondence

  • Routine media inquiries

  • Follow-up requests not connected to emergency response

  • General organizational communication

The Foundation will resume regular administrative processing after each closure period ends.

For the November closure, regular administrative hours resume Thursday, November 26, 2026.

For the December holiday closure, regular administrative operations resume Saturday, January 2, 2027.

The Foundation appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation as administrative staff observe the holiday season.
