Uvalde Foundation For Kids Announces Update To Perry High School Shooting Award Presentations & Fundraiser
Perry, Iowa - The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, a national nonprofit formed following the May 2022 school shooting In Uvalde, Texas announced this week that it will be recognizing Perry High School Principal, Dan Marburger and Perry Middle School Assistant Principal, Adam Jessen for their efforts to save students during this weeks tragic shooting at Perry High School in Perry, Iowa, with its national, "Abby Zwerner Hero Teacher Award." The recognition is named after Richneck Elementary School teacher, Abby Zwerner shot in her Richneck Elementary School classroom in Newport News, Virginia last year.
Foundation officials noted that while originally hoped to be hosted in Perry, Iowa, they will now be planning a presentation ceremony in Texas with a date to be announced.
