National nonprofit formed after Uvalde, Texas mass shooting launches national school threat database & resource center in effort to address national school threat epidemic:
National student advocacy and school violence prevention nonprofit, formed in response to the Uvalde, Texas mass shooting in May 2022, announced in a brief release Wednesday morning the launch of its national school threat database & threat resource center. The program will track & report on local, state & national school threats, as well as provide a variety of resources, including a LIVE national anonymous school threat reporting & student support network. Officials noted the program is meant as both an intervention and educational tool for school communities.
Foundation officials noted in Wednesday's release: "This new database & resource center will allow us not only to track and report on school threats nationwide, so as to help ensure students safety, but in so doing, will also allow us to further accurately develop programming to address what is a growing, dangerous national trend disrupting our students and classrooms nationwide."
Foundation officials say nationwide it has currently tracked over 408 school threats within the last week nationwide, with over 85,000 students affected.
