Website:
Thank you for your dedication to the welfare of these missing juveniles and your commitment to assisting in their safe return. We understand and appreciate your organization’s desire to help.
I want to assure you that the Cache County Sheriff’s Office has been working closely and continuously with detectives from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in Idaho since the beginning of this investigation. We have diligently followed up on every lead provided to us and have conducted thorough checks of multiple residences, including those of family members residing in Trenton, Utah. These families have been fully cooperative with law enforcement efforts and have allowed searches of their homes whenever requested.
Regarding your statement referencing “the family in Trenton,” I would like to clarify that we have contacted and worked with the family members in Trenton, and they have complied with all investigative steps. At this time, we do not have any evidence indicating that the juveniles are currently in our jurisdiction or that these family members are withholding information.
Tip Submissions:
Given the complexity of this case, I want to emphasize that many members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) share similar physical appearances and clothing styles. This has led to a high number of tips from well-meaning community members reporting any FLDS individuals they encounter, many of which turn out unrelated to the missing juveniles.
While we are committed to following up on every credible lead, we respectfully request that your organization and volunteers limit tip submissions to those supported by specific, corroborating information, for example:
Exact vehicle descriptions with license plates,
Known associations with the juveniles,
Precise locations with context linking sightings.
This will help ensure that investigative resources are focused on actionable leads and minimize the risk of unintended harassment of families who are cooperating with law enforcement.
Coordination:
We ask that any tips you receive be shared directly with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 208-745-9210, which remains the primary point of contact for this investigation. This coordinated approach helps ensure tips are vetted efficiently and follow the established investigative strategy between Idaho and Utah authorities.
Again, we sincerely appreciate your concern and willingness to assist. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have specific information that could advance this investigation.
Sincerely,
Lieutenant Tim Ramirez
